Are Casino Comps Worth It

September 29, 2017 Test 0

Many people who play in the casino often ask if the requirements to reach comps are too tough. One good counter argument is that of one plays with all their hear t and spend a lot of time, money and effort in their games, aren’t they entitled to it? Most definitely. Comps are the main reason why players keep on coming back to the same casino day in and day out. For the players, it is the security and knowledge that the casino is going to take care of them that counts. In the United States, a lot of people go for the hospitality factor and expect it inmost places. If a casino treats them like kings and queens then it is worth coming back again and again to the same place. The comps in the casino can rage from the small to the huge ones. Small comps are usually mugs or keychains that can serve as reminders of the casino but the heavier ones like free food, free drinks, and free rooms are the ones that players ultimately hope for. Comps can be obtained in many ways but the most common way is to let ones gameplay in the casino be “rated” and “scored” by the appropriate comps man or the staff assigned for the comps distribution. Players have to remember that the play are not automatically noted and the plays must be scored manually for the comps to be noted. Some casinos have special places that must be played at in order to avail of the comps. Most of the high risks games have similar comps and may require a shorter gameplay unlike others like slots or maybe roulette. Every casino has its own sizing up of comps and it is up to the raters to score ones game. In most casinos, one has to register or join a players club to avail of the comps. Most comps are free but then joining a club enables the casino to keep tracks of ones performance and this enables the casino to serve the player further in the future. While most players do not prefer to be traced yet they ask and sometimes demand for the comps to be given but with it records of the past plays, sometimes the casino cannot give it. Having a record of comps may also help in times of a tax cut or tax times. Some casinos keep logs of the loss and it is alright to ask for copies of it in one next tax plan. One has to keep in mind that asking for a comp and getting a comp can be done on the first day of ones visit ion the casino. This can be done by approaching the casino host on these matters. The casino host is the person to talk to about getting he comps done the very first day. One has to be very cordial about asking for comps because if one tends to diss off or offend […]

Different Types of Bluffs

August 27, 2017 Test 0

Many people who do not know the gamer of poker well simply know the bluff as a single motion or single play. There are actually many types of bluffs and these can be used in many situations. Bluffing is also dependent on the location of the casino. Is it a land based casino or online internet casino? There are three basic types of bluffs: Betting/Raising with a feeble hand In this type of a bluff, one must have a hopeless or weak hand to begin with. The bluff involves showing to the table a strong hand while actually holding a weak hand. This technique is also reversible. One can pretend to have a feeble hand but actually has a strong one. Some players use this reverse technique to lure other players into thinking this way so that the jackpot keeps getting bigger and bigger. It also allows players to keep playing longer into the game. Betting/Raising when it does not cost a lot : Players who use this type of bluff try to gain a free card later in the game when the cost is usually doubled. This bluff also used when one wants to discard an old weak card. Betting on a semi-bluff : When a player employs a semi-bluff, one has two different ways that could spell a win if successful. – If an opponent thinks what the bluffer has is real, and what one is implying in the bluff, they fold their hand. – If the opponent calls, one might catch the card the opponent is looking for and win. Betting with a semi-bluff means one is essentially betting with a hand when, if called, may not be a pat hand or a guaranteed win at the time. The semi-bluff still has a reasonable chance to out pull the hand(s) that initially called it in the first place. Poker players must keep in mind that there is no real clear cut answer to bluffing. Players who bluff are not easy players to read. One may notice players that intimidate a few times are usually above average players. These type of players tend to be more adept than others that those boastful players who intimidate all the time or those who never attempt to do so. These players can keep other players guessing and betting for a long period of time. Some players are so skilled in the art that other players can be misdirected into folding most of the time.

Gambling and Temper

April 15, 2017 Test 0

Popular notions go that gambling create bad tempers in gamblers. Movies often picture them in brawls with other people, especially their spouses. Does gambling really stimulate bad temper in gamblers? If so, how do we stop gambling from eating up the mood of gamblers? The culprit really is not gambling per se but how people take winning and losing in gambling. It’s mishandling stress. Anybody in any activity who fails to handle stress properly will end up being bad tempered. Even saints, being non-gamblers, would explode with bad temper if they let stress and work pressure get the better of them. The only consideration is that, gambling causes stress more than any other activity. Why? Here are some facts: Card game gamblers sit all day without much physical activity. Others standing up also stress out and strain the legs and feet. Dormancy plus gambling distress can be a health time bomb. Gambling stress can build up in the nervous system and trigger a regular hot temperament. This can manifest even in non-gambling situations. Once the bad temper becomes habitual due to improper gambling stress coping, the notion is enforced—that gambling creates bad temper in gamblers. The inordinate drive to win both elicits stress in wanting to win and in avoiding losing. Gambling is simple winning or losing, so each time gambling sessions are going, there’s a continuous gambling stress stimulated by this gambling drive. So what should gamblers do to get rid of bad tempers? Simple tips are below: Keep gambling as a hobby, not a vice. Enjoy what it results in, whether a win or a lost, and do not desperately desire to win. Winning is strategy and chance. It doesn’t rely on one’s desperation to win. Desperate or not, if one wins, one wins. As long as one maintains an attitude of neither wanting to win or to lose, gambling stress levels will be at normal range. Losing in gambling is bad but feeling bad about it won’t turn it into a win. Psychologists have been saying for years now that it is healthy to laugh at one’s own mistakes and foibles—losing included. Sometimes it’s hard to fight the temptation to hate the guy who’s making you lose. This is the number one stressor. The best defense against stress (and malice) is to laugh at one’s losing or bring a book of jokes along and read a line or two each losing time. When done with the book it’s quitting time. Gambling and stress concoct bad temper. But gambling with proper stress coping is a good hobby.
